Beta participation terms & privacy notice
This notice explains how Go Pro Trade uses information from the beta assessment, employer waitlist and demo request forms.
1. Who we are
Go Pro Trade is responsible for your personal information as the data controller. Contact us at hello@goprotrade.co.uk or First Floor, Swan Buildings, 20 Swan Street, Manchester, M4 5JW, United Kingdom.
2. Taking part in the beta
The beta helps us test and improve an assessment that connects interests and working preferences with skilled trades. Taking part is voluntary. You can stop before submitting, leave optional questions blank where offered, or contact us afterwards to withdraw.
Your results suggest trades to explore. They do not award a qualification, guarantee employment or determine admission to a course. Use them alongside careers advice, practical experience and information about training requirements.
Experienced tradesmen are available for follow-up conversations. You can request a conversation with one tradesman from each of your top two suggested trades; appointment arrangements and any charges will be explained before you agree to a booking.
3. Information we collect
When you submit, we collect your name, email address, assessment answers, calculated trade suggestions, submission date, your consent choices and the version of this notice you agreed to. We also keep the email delivery status and a submission reference. We do not ask for health information, identity documents or payment details in this form.
Your answers remain in your browser’s active session until submission. Closing or refreshing the page can remove unsent answers. Our providers may separately handle technical connection and security logs needed to run the website and email service.
4. Why we use your information
We use your name, email and answers to process your beta submission and send your trade suggestions. Our lawful basis for this processing is your consent, given through the beta participation checkbox.
A separate, optional checkbox lets you consent to our using your assessment answers and results to evaluate and improve the trade-matching algorithm. Declining this does not prevent you from requesting your results. Joining the beta does not sign you up for marketing.
The algorithm compares your responses using weighted scoring rules to suggest three trade pathways. We do not use your beta results to make employment, admission or other decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Contact us if you would like to discuss how your results were produced.
5. Who can access your information
Access is limited to authorised Go Pro Trade team members who need it to provide the service or carry out the improvement work you agreed to, together with contracted hosting and email providers acting on our instructions. We do not sell your information or automatically send results to colleges or employers.
If you request a tradesman consultation, we will explain which details need to be shared and ask for your agreement before sharing them. We may disclose information where required by law.
Our website and database are hosted through ChatGPT Sites, using OpenAI and Cloudflare infrastructure. Resend sends the automatic emails; Google Workspace handles messages sent to our email addresses. These services can process information outside the UK. Selecting Ireland as the email sending region does not mean all email data is stored there.
Resend states that it stores message content and delivery logs in the United States, normally for 30 days on its standard plans. Its data processing agreement includes standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum for international transfers. See Resend’s processing and retention information. Our hosting and mailbox providers operate their own contractual safeguards and retention processes; contact us for details relevant to your request.
6. One-year retention
Beta records expire one year after submission. Automated daily housekeeping deletes expired records from the active website database, so deletion may take up to 24 hours after expiry. We remove answers earlier when they are no longer needed to provide results and you have not opted into improvement research. Withdrawing consent may also lead to earlier deletion.
Genuinely anonymous findings, which can no longer identify you, may be retained to improve the assessment. We cannot remove an individual’s contribution once it has been irreversibly anonymised. Deletion from the active database does not immediately erase copies in provider backups, security logs or an email recipient’s inbox. These follow the relevant provider’s retention and deletion processes. Contact us to request deletion of correspondence held by Go Pro Trade.
7. Your choices and rights
You can withdraw either consent at any time by emailing hello@goprotrade.co.uk. Tell us the email address used for your submission and which consent you want to withdraw. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew.
You may ask to access or correct your information, have it deleted, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy where applicable. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We normally respond within one month; if a lawful extension applies, we will explain why.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. You do not have to contact us first.
8. Younger participants
Please read this notice carefully and ask a parent, carer, teacher or adviser if anything is unclear. If you are under 13, contact us with a parent or carer before submitting personal information so we can arrange the appropriate permission. The online beta form is not intended for under-13 submissions.
9. Employer waitlist and demo enquiries
For the employer waitlist, we store your email, signup date, consent wording and confirmation status. Your consent lets us send the confirmation, employer access announcements and the first-month offer you requested. Unsubscribe by replying to any message or emailing hello@goprotrade.co.uk. Waitlist entries are removed after one year, or earlier if you unsubscribe or the waitlist closes.
For a demo request, we store your name, work email, role, organisation, organisation type, optional phone number, approximate candidate count and submission and email status. We use these details to respond to your enquiry under our legitimate interest in handling business demo requests. They are sent to our team’s mailbox and retained in the website database for one year. Requesting a demo does not subscribe you to marketing; you may object to this use or ask us to delete your enquiry.
10. Changes and contact
The assessment and suggested pathways may change during beta testing. If we want to use your identifiable data for a new purpose, we will explain that purpose and seek fresh consent where required. You retain your rights under applicable law.
